Nigeria Stocks Screener operates at topchor.com. We are a U.S.-registered company that provides stock screening, watchlist management, and market data tools for the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).
As the data controller, we are responsible for deciding how your personal data is processed. All data handling is conducted in accordance with applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws.
2. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide directly
- Account registration: Email address and password when you sign up.
- Contact form: Name, email, and message when you contact us.
- Platform content: Watchlist names, saved screen names, and filter configurations you create.
b) Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and referring URLs.
- Device data: Device type, operating system, and screen resolution.
- Cookies: Session cookies and authentication tokens. See Section 6.
c) What we do not collect
We do not collect brokerage account details, portfolio holdings, payment card data, or any personal financial information. Our platform displays publicly available NGX market data only.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the personal data we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
- Provide platform features including the screener, watchlists, preset screens, and email verification.
- Respond to enquiries, support requests, and bug reports.
- Send transactional emails such as password reset and email verification links.
- Monitor platform performance, detect abuse, and improve service reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations under U.S. federal and state law.
We do not use your data for automated profiling or serve targeted advertisements.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers. Security measures include:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashed values — we cannot read your password.
- Access to production systems is restricted to authorised team members only.
- Regular security reviews and dependency updates are conducted.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. Use a strong, unique password and log out of shared devices.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your email address and hashed password are deleted within 30 days.
- Watchlists, preset screens, and user-generated content are deleted immediately.
- Server logs containing your IP address are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.

Under applicable U.S. privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents — you have the following rights:

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Nigeria Stocks Screener is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
